Treatment of Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Excessive sweating can be an embarrassing problem. The most common places that are affected are underarms, palms and soles. In most cases, there are no specific cause especially when occurs in younger individuals in localized areas. Topical medications such as aluminium chloride and glycopyrrolate can be used as first line treatments for hyperhidrosis. For more resistant or generalized cases, oral medication such as glycopyrrolate and clonidine maybe tried.

BOTOX injection is also extremely useful for localized areas of underarms, palms and soles. This treatment is relative painless and the result usually lasts around 6 months. The cost of the medication may be covered by your private insurance plan.
